My dad's surgery
Today my dad had a total knee replacement. He has been suffering for years with knee pain. When he was 18 he was told he had knees of an 80 year old...so now that he is 59...his knee was dead. He had decided back in January pretty much when we went to Disney that he was going tohave his knee replaced. He originally wanted to have both replaced but the doctor convinced him to only do the left knee. So this morning that is what he did. The surgery started late but by 1:00, dad was resting in his room and being his normal smart alleck self. He will be in the hospital for 3 days...then either released to home or possibly to a rehab facility.
It is going to be a long summer.
On an entirely different note...yesterday I did a 4 mile run and then a 25 mile bike. It was my first on road bike ride...boy was it fun.

Hope your dad's recovery is speedy & as pain-free as possible.
Last year my dad had both knees replaced. They had to wait 6 months between the surgeries. Today he can walk without a cane.
