Power of Prayer
There is a boy who goes to St. Charles School who was diagnosed with Bone Cancer last spring. He is currently undergoing chemo and is having surgery in August to remove the cancerous bone from his leg and replace it with a cadaver bone. They are hoping and we are praying that the new bones takes hold and Dante will be healed and the cancer will not have spread.
Tonight there was a prayer service for Dante at church. There were so many people. The 7th and 8th graders were all there. The boys had their football jerseys on they all sat together at the front of church. It was an amazing evening of prayer. Our church holds about 800 people and I would say it was 90% full. It was amazing to see so many people pull together for a common purpose.

My heart goes out to that little boy & his family. I know scary a time this is for them.
Back when we were adopting Erin, we were told that David had a tumor in his bone that was most likely cancerous. We almost stopped the adoption thinking we couldn't bring a child home with a sick parent to deal with. It was the scariest of times for us because we had just restarted our adoption process a few months previous due to emergency surgery that I had.
What started out as a cancerous tumor turned out to be what is called a necrotic tumor. It was in the worst possible place too. Most are on the front of the leg. David's was right in back of his knee & surrounding the nerves, tendons & the artery that goes all the way down to his feet.
Yes. I believe in the power prayer. Please keep us updated on this sweet boy & his journey.
